Lecture Series Poster: Black Sheep

Honorable mention, Lecture Series Poster Competition

Conceptual poster generated as a response to waste and presence after having won the prior competition. At over 10 feet in length, the poster is designed to go floor-to-ceiling, both breaking the visual space of an institution's "poster wall" and creating a bold, SCI-Arc statement. The black sheep at the bottom is life-size, and the black band that the poster creates moves floor to cieling, disrupting the wall's presence itself.

In the previous series of posters, many prints were left unused or not distributed. Further, postage was used to send posters to schools where the value of advertising would be of little value. As a response to this, a hand-made poster was designed. The poster is created using a series of laser-cut stencils. The artwork is then stenciled onto the 10ft length of paper using a variety of flourescent colors, lending each poster to a unique and textured output. Posters would then only be produced for a particular number of schools, places or persons, or by request.
